General

These policies apply only to the Playfully Grownup Home website (“this site” or “PGH”), and not to any additional sites or services I may use. The Playfully Grownup Home online shop on Etsy (“my Etsy shop”) is governed by its own policies and the Etsy terms of use.

If you do not agree to the policies, do not use this site or buy my products.

All original text, titles and imagery (including collages) are created solely for PGH. Unless otherwise mentioned, all content is © Eppu Jensen. I reserve the right to supplement or delete parts of the content or imagery without prior announcement.

Any outside material will be marked as such; I will always link to or mention the original creator when known. See also Copyright & Fair Use below.

I reserve the right to change or modify these policies without notice. Please review the policies periodically to ensure you are aware of any changes or updates. Changes will become effective when posted to the site. Your continued use of the site constitutes your acceptance of the changes. The date of last update will be indicated at the top of the page.

If you have any questions, please contact me.

Advertising

I do not accept gifts or discounts to write about products or services. In featuring, referring to or commenting on any products or services, I will only include products or services that I might appreciate myself and that others with similar interests might enjoy.

The appearance of any ads on this site is not an endorsement of said advertisers. I am not responsible or liable for any content, advertising, products or other materials appearing on or available from sponsor sites or resources. Furthermore, I do not I endorse the material there posted, or imply that I believe such material to be accurate, useful or non-harmful.

Blog & Commenting

There are three main functions of the PGH blog: It’s the official channel through which I communicate events and changes in my business activities and promote my products. I also use it to share and reflect upon my experiences in running a small creative business. Finally, the PGH blog builds upon my interests, which means it is a venue for further discovery, exploration and brainstorming. Posts published by me reflect my personal views: I want to share things that intrigue and inspire me or things that I find worthy of further thought.

I attempt to fact-check everything before publication and I strive to provide accurate information, including links. However, as websites, products and businesses change, I cannot guarantee the accuracy of archived content. If you notice a mistake or an omission, please contact me. I will do what I can to correct any factual mistakes. My opinions remain my own.

My writing is not meant to intentionally malign any individual, gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, physical appearance, body size, age, color of skin, ethnic group, physical or neural ability, culture or religion. If I express a strong negative opinion, I will do my best to present my reasoning. At times, I may sum up or refer to opinions that I disagree with or that a reader might disagree with; my opinions might also upset some readers. This is a normal part of life – we cannot all agree to agree all the time.

Any guest blogger posts and accompanying images are the sole responsibility of their creators. I am not responsible, nor will I be held liable, for the opinions expressed by guest bloggers.

See Privacy below for the handling of usernames and contact information.

Copyright & Fair Use

All original text, titles, and imagery (including collages) are created solely for PGH. Unless otherwise mentioned, all content is © Eppu Jensen. Please do not re-use anything from this site without noting its origins on your publication or posting.

Also note that here in the United States, the fair use doctrine gives the public a limited right to reproduce a section of a particular work. Such purposes include criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Even when fair use applies, it is nevertheless bad form not to credit creators of any type of material (including images) for their efforts. Please always mention your sources.

For non-commercial purposes (including blogs and/or not-for-profit websites):

Want to feature something of mine on your own blog or website? Cool, and thanks! You may publish up to one (1) paragraph of unaltered text and up to three (3) images as long as you link back to the site and credit the excerpt(s) appropriately (for example: by Eppu Jensen; © Eppu Jensen; Copyright Eppu Jensen; etc.).

Do not copy the full post; it is considered copyright infringement (i.e., stealing my creative effort).

No written permission is required if you follow these rules.

For commercial purposes (company or small business websites, books, magazines, etc.):

Please contact me for a written permission.

Jurisdiction

Those using the site or doing business with me, Eppu Jensen, or with PGH, agree that jurisdiction for any actions regarding me, Eppu Jensen, this site or PGH shall be the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the United States. Any legal disputes which may arise shall be determined by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Courts, and you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Courts for such purposes.

Privacy

I take privacy seriously, both yours and mine. This privacy policy explains how I collect, use and share your data.

First and foremost, I do not send send marketing or promotional messages unless you have explicitly agreed to receive such messages (“prior express consent”).

If you choose to leave feedback, I may use your review to improve my services.

I rely on a number of legal bases to collect, use and share your information. My service provider (at this time, WordPress) collects and stores some personally identifiable information (“your data”) as part of their routine business activities. They use data collected from traffic among other things to determine statistics.

Personally identifiable information includes but may not be limited to usernames and contact information (e-mail addresses, website URLs, IP addresses, etc.). I can view some of it through my website dashboard, but I do not collect or store your data for business uses. This means I will not give out or sell your data unless required to for specific situations.

The specific situations when I may use your data include 1) responding to comments on this site or by email; 2) complying with the Terms of Use set by my service provider (for example to address a violation of their policies); 3) preventing, investigating, recording and addressing security or technical issues (such as protecting the safety of my customers or others) or fraud, abuse and other illegal activity (for example contacting authorities and/or legal consultants for advice); and, if necessary, 4) complying with court orders and legal obligations or legal claims.

I will not give your data to any other third parties unless that is necessary: 1) to comply with the Terms of Use set by my service provider; 2) in connection with security, technical issues or fraud, abuse and other illegal activity; or 3) if needed in connection with legal obligations or claims.

I will share your data with these third parties only to the extent necessary to fulfill my obligations. You acknowledge that interacting with this site gives me your informed consent to do so.

If I sell or merge my business or a portion of my business or assets (including reorganization, dissolution or liquidation), I also reserve the right to disclose your data as part of that transaction, but only to the extent permitted by law.

The personally identifiable information I have access to through my website dashboard will be kept confidential and protected by reasonable safeguards. This means that I have safe browsing habits and I do not leave my account logged on when I am not present. I also protect and monitor my devices from unauthorized access, viruses and malware. My service provider is responsible for the security of their operations; contact them for details.

Note that I live and work in Massachusetts, United States. As a result, your data may fall under a jurisdiction with different data protection and government surveillance laws than mine. Also note that as as part of their service to me, my service provider may store and process your information through third-party hosting services in the US and other jurisdictions.

I do use statistics from my service provider to evaluate and analyze visits and other activity on this site. Only numerical data and not personally identifiable information will be used in such analyses.

If you reside in certain territories, including the EU, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal information: 1) you may have the right to access and receive a copy of your data; 2) you may also have rights to change, restrict my use of or delete your data (in which case I will delete your data unless I have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using that information or if it is needed for legal reasons); 3) you can object to receiving marketing or promotional messages from me after providing prior express consent to receive them; and 4) if you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern about my use of your data, you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority. If you wish to access, correct or delete personal information held by WordPress, contact them directly.

For purposes of EU data protection law, I, Eppu Jensen, am the data controller of your personal information.

If you have questions, please contact me via the contact form at this site.

There may also be cookies (=files that stay on your computer and provide a better browsing experience). You can turn them off in your browser if you are not comfortable with them.

WordPress has its own Privacy Policy (Automattic privacy policy); please refer to it for how they collect, use and share your data. If you wish to access, correct or delete personal information held by WordPress, contact them directly.

Safety

Although I make effort to check before publishing, I cannot guarantee the accuracy of any information; information on this site is provided as-is. I encourage readers to do their own research and fact-check. Project instructions assume that you know basic techniques and own basic safety equipment. Use appropriate caution, use common sense, and check everything carefully. If you decide to use tips, techniques, advice or recommendations from this site and an accident happens, I am not to be held responsible for damage either to you or your property.
