Design

You say your products are handmade. What does that mean?

It means that even though my items are not sewn completely by hand, they are made by what might be called modern hand processes. I buy ready-made fabrics and materials and use a sewing machine, for example, but I don’t run an industrial-level operation. I make one-of-a-kind items or small batches based on my own designs. The level of actual handsewing varies based on item type and design. Some items are made entirely with a sewing machine, others I partially hand-sew and/or embroider, and finish off by machine.

Do you have a particular design style?

I grew up in northern Finland, and my tastes reflect my experiences with the Nordic cultures and aesthetics. I like folk art, traditional designs and saturated colors in combination with white. I also appreciate clean lines and stylized design, but don’t consider myself a minimalist.

Ordering

Where can I buy your products?

Currently I operate my store exclusively via Etsy. You can access my Etsy shop by following this link.

I can’t access your Etsy shop. What’s happening?

If my shop is on vacation, I will mention it at the top of the page.

If you cannot access Etsy at all, try looking at Etsy’s help or Etsy Status on Twitter.

Is shopping via Etsy secure?

Yes. Etsy follows generally accepted industry standards to protect information that’s submitted to them, both during transmission and after Etsy receives it. Contact Etsy if you have any questions.

What methods of payment do you accept? Do I have to pay a sales tax?

The most up-to-date information can be found in my store policies on Etsy. Briefly: Massachusetts residents are responsible for paying the sales tax and EU residents for the VAT.

Why has the price for your products changed overnight?

I set prices in United States dollars (USD). If you see prices in your local currency, they have been automatically converted. Contact Etsy for more information.

Do you offer coupons?

Occasionally. I usually post information on any sales or offers either on the PGH blog or on my Etsy shop front page.

How will my order be processed?

Once you have submitted your order, Etsy will automatically send you a confirmation message. I will then begin preparing your order. Once I have shipped your order, you will receive a shipping confirmation via Etsy.

How do I get a copy of my invoice when ordering a gift?

Log into your Etsy account and check your Purchases and Reviews. You can print your order confirmation from there.

Can I include a gift message with my order?

Yes! View your cart and type your request in the box labeled Add an Optional Note to Seller.

What is the status of my order?

Log into your Etsy account and check your Purchases and Reviews. You can view tracking information through your Etsy purchases page as the U.S. post office makes it available.

Do you take special orders?

At the moment, I do not. I am always glad to receive ideas and inspiration, but I cannot guarantee that any inspiration will lead to a product.

Why have your terms of use changed?

I update my policies as laws, regulations, conditions or my needs change. It’s only prudent, and protects both you and me.

 

Shipping – General

How long does my order take to ship?

The most up-to-date information can be found in my store policies on Etsy. Basically, my goal is to ship your order as quickly as possible. I am often able to ship the same day, depending on the exact time of the order and time zones, of course.

Unfortunately I cannot guarantee that you will receive your order by a specific date. Please allow sufficient time to receive your order, especially internationally.

Can I track my order?

If tracking is available, you will receive a tracking number with your shipping confirmation. I mail through the U.S. post office, which unfortunately has tracking available only to a limited number of countries.

How are the shipping costs calculated?

Basically, just like at the post office, shipping costs are based on item dimensions and weight. I take advantage of Etsy’s Calculated Shipping program, which means Etsy is able to automatically calculate shipping costs for your purchase based on your location and item(s) in your cart. I add a small fee to cover handling costs (packing materials, paper and ink, etc.).

How long will it take for my order to be delivered?

Typical shipping times vary between 2-6 business days within the continental U.S. (longer to Alaska and Hawaii) and 1-3 weeks internationally. Contact your local post office for more information.

 

Shipping – International

How are the international shipping rates calculated?

Basically, just the same as domestic shipping (see above). In addition, international recipients are responsible for all tolls, duties and taxes, as they are set by the destination country.

How long will it take for my international order to be delivered?

Typical shipping times vary between 1-3 weeks internationally. For more information, see the U.S. post office information for international shipping or contact your local post office.

How much duty and taxes are charged on international orders?

Duties or customs tariffs are set by the destination country customs. International taxes (such as Value Added Tax or VAT) are also set by the destination country. Contact your local authorities for details.

 

Returns

Can I cancel or make changes to my order?

Only if I have not shipped it yet. See Canceling a Purchase on Etsy for help on how to submit a cancellation request.

What is your returns policy? Do you offer refunds?

The most up-to-date information can be found in my store policies on Etsy. Briefly: yes, but in specific situations only.

What about the European Union “cooling off” period for online shopping? Do you uphold those regulations?

Yes! Under EU rules, online shoppers have the right to cancel and return their order within 14 days after receiving it, for any reason and with no justification. The goods must be unused, and you must unequivocally inform the trader (me) of your decision to cancel. I provide you with a cancellation form (withdrawal form) for the purpose.

 

Privacy

What kind of information do you collect from me and how do you use it?

The most up-to-date information can be found in my store policies on Etsy. Briefly: I do not have access to your financial details, and I will not give out or sell your private information unless required to for specific situations.
