This new-to-me kitchen in Espacio Nueva Carolina, an event space, photography studio and co-working space in Madrid, first caught my eye because of the bold floor and wall tile, but there’s actually much more going on.
While the colors are not my favorites and the modern lines of the kitchen cabinetry are a little too austere for my taste, the space is really impressive and dramatic. The floor-to-ceiling curtains draw the eye up to the skylight, and the hanging plants draw further attention to the handsome ceiling recess.
The continuation of the same material from the floor by way of the backsplash all the way to the ceiling makes the feature wall even more effective and reinforces the upwards theme. Very nice.
Note: I wasn’t paid or perked to mention this; just passing along a good thing.
