March 2014 Reading Pile

Books & Mags, My Spaces

Do you ever re-read books? Apparently Sir Christopher Lee reads Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings once through every year. I’m not as dedicated as that, but I have a few favorites I re-read every decade or so. There are also a few that I read again when I feel like it. My current pile to re-read is here:

  1. I love Carol Berg, though I haven’t read the novels in the photo (other than Son of Avonar). Have you read the novels with Seyonne? Even the fact that I still remember the main character’s name all these years later is a testament to her storytelling abilities.

    Anyway, I’m happy to connect with a fellow linguist/creative person/gamer. 🙂

    1. Hello, Michelle! Thanks for leaving a comment – always so nice to meet other linguists/gamers/creative people! No, I haven’t read anything else by Berg. I was thinking of getting another book/series, but this time around the first two in the Bridge of D’Arnath series feel a little uneven. I guess I’ll wait till I’ve finished the whole series and then decide. I have to say I was very pleased to (re)discover that the protag is a little older than your typical SFF female lead – Seriana is 36 in the beginning of book one.
